Field Notes from Africa

Ground-level intelligence from Africa's wild places — seasonal, specific, and written by people who have been there.

The Series

What is it actually like there, right now?

Field Notes is the Intelligence Hub series that answers the question every serious safari traveller eventually asks: what is it actually like there, at this time of year, in this specific place?

Not a destination guide. Not an accommodation review. A note — in the truest sense of the word. Seasonal, observational, and specific to a moment that matters. Written by people with direct, recent knowledge of the places they describe, and shaped by the kind of ecological and guiding fluency that takes years to develop.

The difference between a Field Note and a travel blog post is the same as the difference between a naturalist's journal and a marketing brochure. One is written by someone who went looking for something specific and found it. The other is written to make a destination sound appealing. Field Notes has no interest in the latter.

What You Will Find Here

The guiding knowledge that changes what a traveller sees — and understands — in the field

04
