Linyanti Wildlife Reserve

Your Linyanti Wildlife Reserve Safari Begins Here.

The Linyanti Wildlife Reserve is perfectly nestled on the southern banks of the Linyanti River, which forms a natural border between Zambia and Botswana. This western corner of the Chobe Game Reserve contains a unique mix of wetlands and dense vegetation which provides a similar, (but much smaller) landscape to the Okavango Delta and provides sanctuary for all manner of wildlife. Due to the remoteness of the area, the reserve is quiet and peaceful and is much favored by visitors who enjoy some solitude. Here you’ll find one of the best places in the world to watch migratory birds that flock to the region during the green season (November to March) to nest along the banks of the Linyanti River.

Due to the remoteness of the area, the reserve is quiet and peaceful and is much favored by visitors who enjoy some solitude.

Game viewing is also exceptional throughout the year, reaching a peak during the dry months (May to October) when large herds of elephants, as well as buffalo, zebra, roan, and wild dogs, come to quench their thirst at the river’s edge. Predators include lions, leopards, and wild dogs. While the roads are more difficult to navigate during the wet season, this is undoubtedly the best time to see the annual zebra migration (February to April) and many baby animals. Because Linyanti is a private reserve, visitors can look forward to night drives, game walks, and water-based game viewing from stable canoes and boats on the lagoons and waterways, in addition to traditional 4X4 game drives.
